It is the third of an anthology trilogy of English translations that includes 92 Chinese stories written by 75 authors. It has been translated by the retired Canadian professor Harry J. Huang, PhD, who is a world-renowned Chinese-English translator, a fiction writer and translation studies scholar. The book is divided by theme into ten sections: “Serious Jokes in the Office,” “Wits at Risk,” “Philosophy at Work,” “The Young & the Old,” “Lovers’ Privacy,” “Patients in Need,” “Defying Disabilities,” “Artists’ Life,” “Animal World,” and “A Glance at Science Fiction.” Like the other two anthologies, this book includes both heartwarming stories and ones that expose human corruption. It contains graceful humor, poignant satire, and great wisdom.
